 About Us
Our
community is a mix of people. Many dress up, while others wear shorts or jeans, or even PJS from their home computer.  We have people who have been here for years, and many for weeks. Some like to stand in worship and others prefer to sit.  We have activity bags for children who want something extra to do, and we love to hear their voices when we sing. We have a time of prayer to listen and reflect on the joys and needs that are on our heart.

After service people gather over coffee and goodies and visit.  Several members help our community by picking up trash around our church.  We have a library for checking out books on social justice, spiritual topics and those chosen by Women of Faith.

We welcome everyone of all backgrounds, abilities, ethnic groups, income levels, age groups, sexual orientations and gender identities.

We invite you to come see what we are all about.
Stop by on Sunday, give us a call at 503-254-5529 or
send us an e-mail at montavillaumchurch@gmail.com.

Land Acknowledgement
We humbly acknowledge that Montavilla UMC is located on the ancestral and unceded land and has been home to the Indigenous tribes of Multnomah, Confederated Tribes of the Siletz, Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and the Cowlitz, plus several others. We acknowledge the history of the unfair treatment that the Indigenous people of this region received. We recognize the diversity of these native communities past, and present and thank them for their care of the land as we seek to move forward in partnership and continue stewardship of this valuable resource.
